Michael Zang-Gandor: Founder, Chief Executive Officer and President; qualified
as molecular biologist and biotechnologist received his MD in 1992 at the
University of Weihenstephan and the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology / Zurich.
Before he founded EUGENEX he established and ran a molecular and cell biology service
lab for protein expression at Novartis AG, Basle.
Christine Gandor, Ph.D.: Co-Founder, CFO; qualified as a cell biologist, obtained
her Ph.D. 1993 from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich. At Novartis
AG, Basle she improved different expression systems and adapted cell lines for the
application in HTS (High Throughput Screening) in biotechnology industry within the
framework of the Swiss priority program (SPP).
When Michael Zang-Gandor and Christine Gandor founded EUGENEX they brought a more
than 10 years experience with serum- and protein-free cell culture and a broad repertoire
of know-how and skills in mammalian cell culture, molecular genetics and gene expression.
In 1992 they established the first expression system with protein-free growing CHO
(Chinese Hamster ovary) cells at the Institute of Biotechnology, Swiss Federal Institute
of Technology, Zurich.
Toni Lindl, Ph.D.: Member of the board; established cell culture methods from the beginning
obtained his Ph.D. in 1974 from the University
of Freiburg i. Br. He founded and heads the Institute for Applied Cell Culture (IAZ),
Munich. Since 1990 he is Professor for biology and cell culture technology at the
University of Weihenstephan.
